CLUTCH - An Unusual Love Story
"Have you ever wonder, though brake and Accelerator gives the thrill and spill of a ride. its that cute little clutch makes things smooth and makes us feel sexy when we ride a motor vehicle."
Its time to break the long break i had with a non technical blog. to make it different i thought of making something interesting by confessing my love story. My love to vehicles.
Rite from young age, when it came to vehicles i was more attracted to 2 wheelers than the 4 Tyre ones. so i dint really bother to get a license for it until i was 23. Sooner than later my Dad did not want the society to know that his son doesn't have a 4 wheeler license yet.
My relationship with motor cycles is something a love marriage of sorts but that with 4 wheeler was an parent compelled arranged marriage. And its time for a Brutus Quote,
"Not that i don't love riding cars, but i loved riding bikes even more."
So it was a compelling situation that made to go a Playground which was arranged for the typical Indian licensing style 4 types on 4 corners on a Monday morning which had heavy showers the previous night and drizzles later. and rules were pretty straight. turn the vehicles to the right of each type and complete a square, then show the reverse driving skills and that's it. You will be a licensed 4 wheeler driver who can travel anywhere within the country for 20 years.
"To make things worse i brought my lover to see the bride, my bike"
Then came my turn. An random guy advised me to remove my sandals before entering the car to have a grip on the clutch, because the first and foremost rule to pass a driving test is not for let the engine off, which needs a huge help from clutch. I stepped in, tied on seat belt, started the engine, that made me felt like Ajith Kumar (Indian Actor who is also popular for his riding skills).
And then started my bad times with rain effects on my foot with watery skin and my bikes stomach burn just got my foot even more slippery, which in turn made my foot slip out of clutch even before the vehicle moved. the engine switch off and the officer gave a look which made clearly realize that i have kept an arrear in the license test. sooner he entered the letter 'F' on my papers and gave it to me and asked me to come next week. I was disappointed
Then came next week. This Monday the cloud was clear. With my new application i was standing in the queue for my turn, the sad part was the officer was able to recognize me which made me feel he's going to super careful in evaluating me this time.and oh i forgot to mention i came with my bike again, I gave my papers to the Officer. Tied my seat belt, started the engine on full clutch waiting for the office to say 'Lets Start' ensuring my foot was dry.
'Start' - he said, i released the clutch, with pretty much more careful to reach the biting point, the vehicle moved and came the more power. I completed the drill and stopped the car, released the clutch with much satisfaction of going through the test. I smiled, he smiled back and gave my papers back. With much happiness seeing the word 'P' which means Pass, i started walking towards my bike. The joy was all over my face.
As I walked towards my bike, I felt that my bike never wanted me to ride any other vehicle, it was possessive on me. so the clutch failed the first time. but sooner i realized the second time lucky was just because of the bike loved me in return. That made itself ready for the triangular love series.
And now, 'Oh yeah, I'm licensed driver who can drive both 2 wheeler and 4 wheelers across India'. with much joy, i went to my bike and to my surprise the button start which dint work until then, Worked. I took it is ready for my new relationship because at the end of the it dint its man to fail on a test. The joy continued with the photo session for the license , Briyani with coke made my day.
The Clutch was a part of my life by getting me a new relation and enhanced my love for my bike. and hence the LOVE story ends on a sweet note. One might think everyone needs a clutch to make their life ride smooth and never let them down. the point of fact it its omnipresent , its how we control it.
